GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a new European legislation, which became effective on May 25, 2018, and regulates relations between residents of the European Union and other countries, including Ukraine, in protecting of their personal data.
Personal data is any information that allows to identify a particular person: names, emails, telephone numbers, payment card numbers and bank accounts, IP addresses, cookies, etc.
Persons who are working with EU representatives are obliged to protect personal databases by providing not only necessary software of own development or using a third-party product that meets all requirements, but also to bear responsibility at the rate of 100 000 euros and more depending on the consequences of disclosure.
Due to this, every company that trades or builds any business relations with representatives of the European Union, must have provisions that define the rules of these relationships, including work and protecting personal data.
